Alder Nevada History
From the Mining Districts of Nevada:
The Alder, or Tennessee Gulch district, is about 10 miles south of Rowland. Most prospecting has been in T46N, R56E. The original district included both Tennessee Gulch and Lost Gulch placer areas.
Tungsten deposits on the upper slopes of Tennessee Mountain are considered to be in the Alder district, but prospects on the lower slopes of Tennessee Mountain are in the adjacent Island Mountain district.
Looking through old newspapers I did not find references for “Adler” but I did find several in the late 1890s mentioning the strikes at Tennessee Gulch. There are a lot of articles to comb through and we will update this article with more information once we find relevant information to share.

Speaking of mobile apps, two of my favorite mobile apps for exploring the southwest are two different mapping apps one that builds your schedule and the other helps me look to see if my rural destination is taking me to private or public lands. Highly recommend both!
