Colorado River Heritage Greenway Park & Trails

Colorado River Heritage Greenway Park & Trails Overview

The project opened to visitors in 2012 consisting of 9 miles of trails in the Laughlin area for bicyclists, pedestrians, and equestrian riders, and includes expansion of the Laughlin Riverwalk, fully developed restrooms and trailheads, picnic sites, shade shelters, fishing piers, and a highway pedestrian bridge overpass and underpass providing access to the Colorado River, with Davis Dam as its backdrop.

Visitors of all abilities can enjoy the trails and accessible fishing areas.

The Colorado River Heritage project is part of a larger regional trails system designed to link Laughlin and the surrounding community to the Lake Mead National Recreation Area and parts of Arizona.

Parking

Colorado River Heritage Greenway Park & Trails

Each time I have been to the Colorado River Heritage Greenway, there have been plenty of parking and I’ve never had to wait for a space.

The only downside is that there is no shaded parking so, during warmer days, your car will bake in the sun. Click here to view top-rated car shades to keep your car cooler.

Fees

There is no fee to enjoy the Colorado River Heritage Greenway trails.

What to Take

The trails are short and easy so nothing unusual is needed to enjoy this area.

I would recommend a few of my favorite items for short trails like my reflective umbrella or hiking hat to keep the sun rays down and my water bottle sling.

Trailheads

The Bridge Trailhead starts above the parking lot at the corner of State Road 163 and Casino Drive. Trailhead amenities include parking, restroom, and water.

The Equestrian Trailhead is located on Davis Dam Road north of SR 163. This is the starting point for the Equestrian Trail, the Dam Overlook Trail, and the Desert Trail. The Trailheads start to the right of the facilities. Trailhead amenities included vault toilets and limited parking. There are corals and parking for horse trailers.

The Northreach Trailhead starts north of the Bridge Trailhead and is reachable from westbound SR163 (Casino Drive northbound then left on SR163, take the 1st right). Trailhead amenities include parking, restrooms, and water.

The Pyramid Canyon Trailhead is located on Davis Dam Road across the River from Davis Dam. The Trailhead to the River Front Trail starts just south of the entrance to the Pyramid Canyon. Trailhead amenities include parking, restrooms, and water. There are shelters available with BBQ grills for picnicking. The shelters can be reserved for group use by contacting the Clark County Parks and Recreation Department in Laughlin, NV.
