Ellendale Nevada History

While out camping in the mountains, Ellen Clifford Nay, discovered a ledge in the southern part of Salisbury Wash.

The townsite for Ellendale was plotted and the four corner lots on Main Street sold for $250 each, the remaining corner lots sold for $200, and the other lots sold for $150.

Almost immediately amenities popped up what seemed like overnight with stores, homes, boardinghouses, and saloons.

Speaking of mobile apps, two of my favorite mobile apps for exploring the southwest are two different mapping apps one that builds your schedule and the other helps me look to see if my rural destination is taking me to private or public lands. Highly recommend both!
