Escape Room Las Vegas
Escape Rooms Overview
Escape rooms are incredibly popular across the United States and I think even more so in Las Vegas. Escape rooms in Las Vegas offering tourist an alternative activity than gambling and the typical “Vegas Strip” entertainment options. They are perfect for those who are visiting from out of town as part of a group.
The average price per person is $30 – $40 but you can get deep discounts via Groupon – click here to view all escape room deals on Groupon.
As a local, we love having so many escape rooms available for us to try. My family tries to do an escape room at least once a month.
From Wikipedia:
Some common themes and storylines that are often found in escape rooms include zombies, haunted houses, science laboratories, prisons, pirates, treasure hunting, hostage, and kidnappings.
Some of the puzzles escape rooms usually include are: hidden objects, team communication, light, counting, noticing something obvious in the room, using something in an unusual way, symbol substitution with a key, searching for objects in images, assembly of a physical object, algebra and other mathematics, pattern identification, riddles, ciphers and others.
An example of an escape room puzzle would be placing a code on a spinning fan so that it can only be read using a stroboscope in the dark. Therefore, players have to turn off the light, turn on the stroboscope, notice the spinning fan, read the code and apply it further down the game.
Most escape rooms offer plots and usually have a short introduction to establish how the player got there, and sometimes an outro when the game is finished.
Players usually need to find clues and objects to interact with them and solve puzzles to progress.
The rooms usually have multiple stages that are needed to be cleared in order to continue with the plot.
The adventures are usually indoor. However, there are exceptions that would lead players to outdoor adventures. Most experiences are 60 minutes, with exceptions as few as 15 or as many as 120.
The minimum number of players is usually 2 and can go up to 12 or more. Some escape rooms will team you up with other random players in order to fill the required number of players needed.

ESCAPEability
One thing I like about ESCAPEability that some of the other Las Vegas escape rooms don’t offer is a bonus of free clues for checking in via Facebook. (Normally, you are “charged” time each time you ask for a clue.)
We did The Unknown Part I, which is rated medium-hard and has a 33% success rate.

Escapology
One of my family’s favorite (and mine) escape rooms in Las Vegas. Everything from the lobby to the escape rooms is top notch design and the waiting room has fun decor. The facility has puzzles throughout from the lobby to the restrooms!!!
Escapology has over 8 different rooms to try from and I can’t wait to go back and try some of the others. We escaped from the Mansion Murder, Shanghaied, and Budapest Express with time to spare.
Click here to view Escapology discounts on Groupon. Note: always check the fine print as some escape rooms may have limitations on which rooms the discount is good for.
