DAY HIKE: Bridge Mountain

October 2 @ 6:30 am - 5:00 pm UTC-7

Please note, our articles may contain referral or affiliate links.

Total Distance: 16 miles round trip
Total Elevation Gain: 4000′
Altitude: 4500-6990′
Terrain Description: Dirt road, then trail to the sandstone, class 2-3 scrambling on sandstone with exposure
Approximate Hiking Time: 10-11 hours

Bridge Mountain is an iconic peak, and is my favorite hike at Red Rock. It is also one of the LVMC 50 peaks. It features a large natural arch (bridge) that you can either hike through, or over the top of the arch!

This hike has some serious exposure although the climbing is no more than class 3. Not recommended if you have a fear of heights!

The hike to Bridge from Red Rock summit (the high point on the Rocky Gap Rd) is not long (a 5-6 hour hike). However the Rocky Gap Road is not maintained and is for 4WD vehicle only. The stats listed above are for hiking the road from Willow Springs parking lot. If we wind up having enough 4WD vehicles (and brave drivers :)) for the group, we can make the hike significantly shorter.

Please remember to answer the question after RSVPing. If you are using a phone, the question may not appear. If not, please check back again to answer the question.
