Railroad Tunnel Trail is a locals favorite good for all skill levels. Primarily used for hiking, running, mountain biking and accessible year-round it offers stunning views of Lake Mead. The route is compacted dirt surface, partially shaded in late afternoon and easy to navigate. This will be approximately a 8 +/- mile round trip hike to the Hoover Dam and back. Depending on the group, we can go into the coffee shop at the dam, have a bite to eat, something to drink, a little site seeing, and then head back.

The parking lot has ample spaces for parking, and overflow parking at the Lake Mead Visitor center just west of the trailhead. Check the weather for temps/appropriate attire. Always bring plenty to drink & have a flashlight or headlamp for emergency purposes on afternoon/late hikes. The path is also used by bicyclists and runners, so please be aware of their presence and leave room for them to pass.
