*note: with an uptick in new Covid cases this week in Clark County, it is recommended both vaccinated and unvaccinated wear masks and practice social distancing*
Keeping it cool 4 p.m. walks! Join us! Great walks filled with intellectual topics and casual friendly conversations make every event seem just a little too short.
• Two routes to choose.
Going left, it’s a 3 mile round trip with a stop and short rest at Arroyo Sports park with picnic tables, restrooms and drinking fountain. Elevation gain is about 120 feet.
Going right, it’s a 3.2 mile round trip with a stop and short rest at Legacy Park Recreation Center with picnic tables, restrooms, and drinking fountain. Elevation gain is 80 feet.
On days if the group feels more adventurous, we can go down into the Wash to experience the “urban jungle”. A variety of plants, rabbits, birds can often be spotted.

• Tennis shoes (“sneakers”) are fine but hiking shoes are better for your feet. Please bring enough water for yourself and your dog, and a flashlight or headlamp to light the trail in front of you because we are out after sunset. The paved path is also used by bicyclists and runners, so please be aware of their presence and leave room for them to pass.
