October 14 @ 6:00 am - 4:00 pm UTC-7
Please note, our articles may contain referral or affiliate links.
Please read the whole hike description. New participants will be required to sign a Waiver similar to the Disclaimer below.
52 Peak Club members needing a specific Red Rock card(s) are encouraged to text me with the peak name and your availability and we’ll work out a date to post the hike for you.
We’ll be going up the south fork of Pine Creek all the way to the limestone escarpment. It’s a very long but pretty route with lots of class 3 boulder/wash scrambling with some 3+ obstacles. It’s not particularly difficult technically because it’s not the shorter class 4 route up the front. Group size will be kept small.
HIKE QUICK STATS:
Trailhead: Pine Creek (inside scenic loop)
Distance: 12-13 miles
Elevation Gain: 2,500 feet
Summit: 6,240 feet
Class: 3 and some 3+
Exposure: minimal, no ropes
Difficulty: 4, extremely strenuous
Duration: 10-11 hours
Gear: approach shoes – yes; trekking poles – no; gloves – yes
All start on the Waitlist. The reason I became an Organizer is to help people get their cards so priority will only be given to those 52ers who need the card. If you wish to join and become a 52er the day of the hike, please text me at 702-515-9824 several days in advance. If you already have the card, you may be left on the Wait list due to group size limits.
52 Peak Club Information:
If you are a current 52er, the cost of the card is $5. If you want to join the 52 Peak Club, the cost will be $60 to join and $19.97 per month or $5 per card; your choice. Cards will be distributed at the peak. You do NOT have to be a 52er to sign up for this hike but due to group size limits you may be left on the Wait list if you’re not.
Please be respectful of others and be on time or you will be left behind.
You absolutely need to know your pace and ability levels.
Always stay with the group and follow the leader.
Getting everyone through the hike safely is my number one priority.
We’ll meet in Red Rock Casino west parking garage, 3rd floor, northwest corner, section 3D to form carpools for the drive to the trailhead.
If you have a Red Rock park pass, please bring it along with photo ID. If you have any questions; text me at 702-515-9824, send a meetup message or post a comment.
Know and understand the following classes of our hikes. Be sure you are comfortable with the posted class before signing up. Class 3: Scrambling with increased exposure. A rope can be carried but is usually not required. Falls are not always fatal. Class 4: Difficult obstacles or simple climbing with exposure.
