July 2 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm UTC-7

**Please read the entire description.**
Skull Canyon is a trail hike that is a very challenging route with lots of ascents and descents.
The total distance of this loop is about 7 miles with an elevation gain of about 1,600 feet.
There isn’t any scrambling, but the trail is very steep in spots.
There are lots of shady spots along the way up Skull Canyon that will help you cool off a bit.
**Everyone will be able to hike at their own pace.**
**No beginner or slow hikers.**
We will all gather at the top of the canyon and wait for everyone to catch up before continuing to the Las Vegas overlook. Then we will head up toward the top of the ridge and continue on toward a really cool area that has Astro turf and picnic tables that overlooks the valley. There is a lot of room to spread out. We will spend about 30 minutes here dining on whatever you choose to bring. Feel free to bring something to share.
After dinner, we will head down the way we came and head toward Muffin Ridge and head back down to the parking lot.
Meet at the Cowboy Trail Rides parking lot at 6:00 PM.
Friendly, fit dogs are welcome on this hike.
To get there, follow West Charleston Blvd past the entrance to the Red Rock Canyon scenic loop to Cowboy Trail Rides dirt parking lot located at the bottom of the hill on the left hand side of the road.

I am an outdoor enthusiast who would rather be on a backcountry backpacking trip than a stroll on the beach (although I do love the beach!).
Living in Las Vegas has afforded me the opportunity to easily explore the Southwest region of the United States.
A nature lover, I am often found at the end of the pack taking photos and videos of the wildlife found on the trails. Colorful flowers, desert animals, and unusual geological rock formations are often the majority of my photos.
