Desert hiking – Bill and Ted certified “most excellent” pandemic rehab
Relatively easy 5.5 mile “no scrambling 12000+ step” hike (Level 2), elevation gain 650 feet. From our parking area, we hike up and along an old mining road around the mountain bend. From this dirt road, we soon ascend to follow the mountain ridge trail to Ike’s Peak.
For a shorter 4.3 mile hike, some hikers may opt to return from Ike’s Peak the same way. The rest of us will take the “Legalize It” loop trail to the west ridge southward and back to our parking area. Hiking shoes required – no tennis shoes. — click-to-enlarge photos https://imgur.com/a/9ECsJOO

I am an outdoor enthusiast who would rather be on a backcountry backpacking trip than a stroll on the beach (although I do love the beach!).
Living in Las Vegas has afforded me the opportunity to easily explore the Southwest region of the United States.
A nature lover, I am often found at the end of the pack taking photos and videos of the wildlife found on the trails. Colorful flowers, desert animals, and unusual geological rock formations are often the majority of my photos.
