Hemenway Park in Boulder City NV
Hemenway Park Overview
If you are looking for a unique place to have a picnic, head on over to Hemenway Park in Boulder City, NV.
Overlooking Lake Mead, this well-maintained park attracts the Desert Bighorn Sheep from the nearby mountains who visit to graze on the park’s grass.
You will see groups of the sheep lounging around in the shade with their babies while others nibble on the nearby lawn.

A few words of warning:
- Drive slow through the parking lot as sometimes they do wander among the cars and will “pop out” in front of you unexpectedly.
- Just because they are close they appear friendly. THEY ARE NOT! I have seen people try to get close to a large male ram, which the ram didn’t appreciate the photo op and started chasing the photographer.
