Our wonderful state of Nevada consists of sixteen counties and one independent city.

Bullfrog County
Bullfrog County was formed in 1987 from part of Nye County and in 1989 the creation of the county was declared unconstitutional and abolished.
Lake County
Lake County was one of the original nine counties formed in 1861. In 1863 it was renamed Roop County and in 1864 part of the county became Lassen County, California and the remainder was annexed in 1883 to Washoe County.
Ormsby County
Ormsby County was one of the original nine counties formed in 1861. In 1969 it was consolidated with the county seat, Carson City, forming the independent city of that name.
